Catalog Service for the Web (CSW)
The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Catalog
Service for the Web (CSW) is an Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standard for publishing metadata for
geospatial data, services, and related resources. CSW uses queryable properties, which enable clients
to search for geospatial resources by subject matter, dataset title, abstract information, data
format, data type, geographic extent, coordinate reference system, originator, publisher,
purpose, and more.
OKMaps utilizes GeoNetwork, a CSW compliant, open source, catalog service, to
provide efficient data discovery, retrieval, and maintenance.
For more information on Catalog Services, see the Catalogue
Service Implementation Specification.
