The dataset originated from the Oklahoma Conservation Commission. It is believed that the water bodies were digitized from the USGS 1:100,000 topographic maps. Attributes were added by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board. This dataset is updated weekly from the OWRB ArcGIS Online Open Data Portal, Lakes layer (geojson #3) that describes Oklahoma OWRB and NHD surface water layers and watershed boundaries. Terms of Use The map layers displayed in this map service or viewer were produced from various sources at varying degrees of accuracy and precision. Therefore these maps should only be used for general reference information. The data represent the results of data collection and/or processing for the specific Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) activity or purpose described above. These fields contain information regarding the Oklahoma Water Quality Standards. Major lakes that were built after the USGS 1:100,000 were published were added to this shapefile. The 1995 digital ortho photos were used to digitize these lakes. They included: R.C. Longmire Lake, Wes Watkins Reservoir, and Bell Cow Lake.
